There are some emails that make you stop what you’re doing — and this was one of them. When the news came through that Rutland Florals has been shortlisted for the Regional Finals of The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA), we were absolutely thrilled.
This year, we’re honoured to be recognised in two categories — ‘Best Newcomer’ and ‘Wedding Florist’ for the East Midlands. To receive not just one, but two nominations feels incredibly special, and even more meaningful because it’s based on the kind words and feedback of our couples.

What The Wedding Industry Awards Are All About
If you’re not familiar with TWIA, it’s one of the most respected and comprehensive award programmes in the UK wedding industry. Each year, it shines a light on excellence across every part of the sector — from venues and planners to photographers, caterers, and florists.
What makes TWIA stand out is how it’s judged. These awards aren’t about follower counts or glossy marketing — they’re based on real feedback from couples who married in the past year. Their words, experiences, and honest reflections form the foundation of the judging process, alongside careful evaluation from a panel of industry experts.
That’s what makes this achievement so meaningful. It’s not just recognition from peers, but from the people who trusted us with one of the most important parts of their wedding day — their flowers.
A Year of Growth, Creativity, and Connection
Rutland Florals began with a simple vision: to bring garden-inspired, naturally elegant flowers to weddings across Rutland and the surrounding counties.
As a trained florist with a background in horticulture (and as someone who once stood on the other side as a DIY bride), I know how deeply personal wedding flowers are. They’re not just decorations — they’re an expression of feeling, a reflection of place, and the quiet poetry that ties the day together.
Over the past year, we’ve had the joy of designing flowers for so many wonderful couples — each with their own unique story and style. From intimate ceremonies at Normanton Church to romantic celebrations at country venues and stately homes, every brief has been a chance to create something truly personal.
Behind every bouquet and every archway lies thoughtful design, care, and collaboration. No two weddings are ever the same because no two couples are. And while our business has grown, so too has our creative voice. Each season teaches us something new — about design, sustainability, and the natural rhythm of flowers.
Why This Recognition Matters
Being a finalist in both the ‘Wedding Florist’ and ‘Best Newcomer’ categories feels like a wonderful reflection of everything we’ve worked toward — blending artistry with professionalism, and heart with skill.
At Rutland Florals, we’ve always believed that great wedding floristry goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about listening to couples, understanding how they want their day to feel, and translating that into flowers that tell their story.
Our work is guided by a few key principles:
• Designing with nature, not against it. Letting flowers move freely and express their natural form.
• Using our horticultural knowledge to ensure every stem is seasonally appropriate, fresh, and thoughtfully sourced.
• Creating an experience that feels calm, reassuring, and collaborative, from the first consultation to the wedding morning.
These are the values that sit at the heart of Rutland Florals — and to see them reflected back in the kind words of our couples through TWIA’s feedback process is the most rewarding part of all.

A Heartfelt Thank You
To every couple who took the time to vote for us and share their experiences — thank you.
We know how busy wedding planning can be, so your time and thoughtfulness mean the world. Your testimonials don’t just help us during awards season; they help future couples feel confident that they’re in safe, creative hands.
Reading that you felt listened to, supported, and inspired throughout your floral journey brings us so much joy. Because at the heart of what we do is the desire to make you feel seen — to take your ideas and turn them into something even more beautiful than you imagined.
We also want to thank our fellow suppliers — photographers who capture our flowers so beautifully, planners and stylists who share our creative vision, and venues who make every set-up day a joy. The East Midlands wedding community is full of talented, passionate people, and it’s an honour to stand alongside them in these awards.
Looking Ahead
The Regional Finals take place later this year, and we’re so looking forward to celebrating with everyone involved. Whether we take home a trophy or not, this recognition already feels like a win.
It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come — from starting out with a love of flowers and a belief in doing things differently, to now being recognised in two categories that truly reflect who we are and what we value.
As we look ahead to another wedding season, we’re filled with gratitude — for our couples, our supportive community, and for the beautiful flowers that continue to surprise and delight us every single day.
A Final Thought
Being named a TWIA finalist isn’t about chasing titles — it’s about celebrating progress. Every early morning at the flower market, every petal placed with intention, every conversation with a couple about colour palettes and textures — it all leads here.
So here’s to our couples who trusted us, to the incredible creatives who inspire us, and to the flowers that remind us why we fell in love with this work in the first place.
TWIA Regional Finals, here we come!
